SOMERSET — Krystal Jones’ Corbin Lady Redhounds pulled out a five-set thriller during Monday’s road match against Pulaski County to improve to 20-5.
The Lady Redhounds won the first set, 25-22, but dropped the second set, 21-25. Corbin got the momentum back in the third set with a 25-19 win before falling 25-27 in the fourth set.
Jones’ squad hung on and pulled out a 16-14 win in the fifth set to grab the victory.
“Really proud of our girls tonight,” Jones said. “They fought through some adversity and found a way to put the pieces together for a big road win against a very good team.
“We try our best to prepare them for nights like this, but nothing can replace the experience that they gain from going into a game like tonight,” she added. “As always, we have things to work on, but ultimately we are really pleased with the fortitude these girls have shown us.”
