LONDON — North Laurel’s final game of the regular season turned out to be the first time the Lady Jaguars were shutout this season.
North Laurel (7-3) couldn’t get much going offensively, as Frederick Douglass scored early and often to pick up a 8-0 win over the Lady Jaguars.
North Laurel’s losses this season came against Southwestern, Estill County, and Frederick Douglass.
Kayla Bargo’s squad will now switch its focus to next week’s 49th District Tournament held at Oneida Baptist.
The Lady Jaguars will be the No. 3 seed after posting a perfect record against district teams during the regular season.
Their opening round opponent will be No. 4 seed South Laurel, who is also the two-time defending 13th Region champions.
The two teams will play Monday at 6 p.m. with the winner advancing to the championship which will be played Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
