MONTICELLO — Coming off one of its best wins of the season, a 5-1 victory over Oneida Baptist, North Laurel had hopes of picking up another win Thursday while gaining more momentum heading into next week’s 49th District Tournament but Wayne County had other plans.
The Jaguars jumped out to an early lead but never scored again as the Cardinals scored a goal in the second half to force a one-all draw.
Zach Jacobs scored North Laurel’s while the Jaguars finishes regular season play with a 8-3-2 record.
“I felt we came out flat tonight and had tired legs,” North Laurel coach David Broyles said. “I thought we possessed the ball fairly well, but just didn’t make the correct decisions in the final third. We had some good shots, but their keeper had an excellent game. We will regroup and get ready for next week.”
