CORBIN — The Corbin Lady Redhound soccer team will enter next week’s 49th District Tournament with a two-game losing skid after being shutout for the second consecutive game, losing to Pulaski County 1-0.
The Lady Redhounds hung tough but never found the back of the net and was shut out for the seventh time this season.
Corbin will now shift its focus to next week’s 49th District Tournament which will be held at Oneida Baptist.
“We didn’t play bad but I feel like we didn’t play to our full potential tonight,” Corbin coach Hannah Goins said. “We came in and controlled the majority of the game but just couldn’t put it away.
“Got a few things to work on going into district play but I’m confident in my team,” she added. “It definitely won’t be easy but I know we have the potential to make a post reason run as long we come in strong and play our game.”
The Lady Redhounds will enter the tournament as the No. 3 seed and will face-off against No. 2 seed Whitley County on Monday at 8 p.m. The two teams met on Sept. 5 with the Lady Colonels picking up a 3-2 victory.
The winner of the match will advance to Wednesday’s championship game which is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
