WILLIAMSBURG — Whitley County’s Autumn Sawyers added two more goals to her career but in the end, Wayne County managed to pull out a slim 3-2 win.
The Lady Colonels finish regular season play with a 7-6 record, and will be back in action Monday at 8 p.m. against Corbin during first round play of the 49th District Tournament which will be played at Oneida Baptist.
“Our girls played a good game tonight,” Whitley County coach Michael Sawyers said. “Wayne Co was a good match up to end our regular season with. We played a good game. We never want to lose but the girls played so well that I am not upset about it. We played even the whole game but we had one more mistake than they did. We are ready for districts on Monday.”
