Yellow Jackets cruise past Pineville with 48-0 win

WILLIAMSBURG — Jerry Herron’s Williamsburg Yellow Jackets didn’t show any signs of rustiness after a three-week layoff during their 48-0 district win over Pineville.

The Yellow Jackets improved to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in district play after scoring early and often against the Mountain Lions, who are now 0-6.

Mate Goodin and two rushing touchdowns in the win along with Eli Meadors while Peyton Tye also record a rushing touchdown as well.

“We took care of business, and the kids really played physical and fast,” Herron said. “We had a long layoff, but we came out and played well.

“We were able to get healthy which was big,” he added. “We were able to score early and ran the ball well and the offensive line and defense played well.”
