Crosstown shutout: Lady Jaguars punch their ticket into 13th Region Tournament with 6-0 win over South Laurel

MANCHESTER — North Laurel punched its ticket into the 13th Region Tournament by eliminating defending 13th Region champion South Laurel on Monday with a 6-0 victory.

The win advances the Lady Jaguars (8-3) to Wednesday’s 49th District championship game against the winner of Whitley County and Corbin.

The loss ended the Lady Cardinals’ season. They finished the 2024 campaign with a 5-8-1 mark.

Lauren Crouch scored three goals in the win for North Laurel while McKinley Mastin added two goals and Haley Combs scored one goal.

“It took us a minute to find our footing but once we got settled in we played some really good soccer tonight,” North Laurel coach Kayla Bargo said. “We moved the ball well, and defense played well.

“Our defensive player of the game was Carleigh Feltner,” she added. “Carleigh played  a very solid game. Our three goal scorers came up big. Thankful for a chance to go for the championship on Wednesday.”

The championship game is slated for a 6:30 p.m. start.
