LONDON — North Laurel continues its recent dominance over crosstown rival South Laurel by recording a 3-1 victory on Tuesday.
The Lady Jaguars have now won six matches in a row against the Lady Cardinals, including Tuesday’s 17-25, 25-20, 25-20, 25-18 win.
“When North and South get together you never know what kind of game you’ll get. Fortunately, we were able to pull out the win,” North Laurel coach James Hendrix said. “We’ve been working hard trying to find more offensive weapons, and a different person has stepped up every night recently. One night it’s Hannah, the next Tessa. Tonight it was Taylor Hoskins. She played a fantastic game tonight and snuck in some kills that were momentum-keepers and killers.
“After dropping the first set, we settled in and played solid,” he added. “We did a good job of taking what they gave us and forcing them out-of-system. I could go on-and-on. There was a lot to be excited about tonight.”
After seeing South Laurel grab the first set North Laurel dug deep on the road, and won the final three sets to improve to 6-13 while the loss dropped the Lady Cardinals to 9-19.
