LONDON — David Halcomb’s Whitley County Lady Colonels picked up another 50th District victory while extending their win streak against South Laurel to nine games with a 25-18, 25-16, and 25-13 victory over the Lady Cardinals.
Whitley County is now 18-7 on the season while South Laurel moves to 9-20 overall while finishing 50th District play with a win (0-6) for the first time in program history.
“I thought we started off a little slow and wasn’t as sharp as we had been recently, but I attribute that to fall break and the kids getting out of their normal routine,” Halcomb said. “We did play much better the third set, so that was pleasing to see. Give South Laurel credit, I thought they played much better from the first time we played them. We are excited about competing in the Bullitt Central tournament tomorrow and Saturday.”
