WILLIAMSBURG — Matt Rhymer’s Whitley County Colonels dug deep and picked up a huge district win at home Friday, slipping past Perry Central, 17-14.
The win improved the Colonels to 4-3 while they won their second game in a row during the process.
“Great team win,” Rhymer said. “Everyone stepped up tonight, we had a very balanced attack on offense and our defense played solid all night. This is a tough district and to get the first win in district play means a lot. Coach Dixon and Perry County did a great job and we have a lot of respect for them. Really proud of our team and excited to get back to work.”
