Senior Night Success: Lady Yellow Jackets pick up clean sweep in three-set win over Barbourville

WILLIAMSBURG — Dirk Berta’s Williamsburg Lady Yellow Jackets got back on track Tuesday with a three-set win over Barbourville.

The Lady Yellow Jackets (17-12) were coming off a hardfought loss to Bell County, but recovered in an impressive way over the Lady Tigers on Senior Night, winning 25-20, 15-16, and 25-20.

“It was nice to celebrate our seniors tonight — Hannah Creekmore, Heidi Wiles, Lorelei Coleman and Rebekah Kleinert,” Berta said. “This group has pioneered a winning tradition for Williamsburg Volleyball and us coaches are very proud and thankful for them. They fully bought in as freshmen to be, Above the Line, and their accomplishments are proof of that.

“As for the game tonight, we are still working to iron out some mistakes,” he added. “It takes a complete game; serving, passing, with quality defense and offense to win the games that we need to and want to win. It’s nice to get a win, but we are still working on those things. As always, Go Jackets!”
