STERNS — South Laurel’s captured its 10th win, and evened its record to 2-2 on the season against McCreary Central with a 2-0 win.
The Lady Cardinals (10-20) still have two games remaining in the regular season with hopes of winning both while entering the 50th District Tournament with a lot of momentum and confidence.
“We went in with a focus on maintaining our consistency, positivity, and aggressiveness, which I think played a huge role in tonight’s success,” South Laurel coach Shelley Nunley said. “This was our fourth time playing McCreary this season, so we already had a good feel for how they play and some of their tendencies, and we did a great job capitalizing on that information. “I think we’re all really proud of this win and especially proud of the way that we fought so hard from start to finish to earn it,” she added. “It’s good to be a Cardinal every day, but today is a little extra sweet.”
