BACK TO THEIR WINNING WAYS: Pineville hits cruise control during three-set victory over Middlesboro

After dropping four of their last five games, the Pineville Mountain Lions got back on track on Tuesday, handling Middlesboro in three sets.

The win improved Pineville to 6-9 overall, and 6-5 against 13th Region opponents.

The Lady Mountain Lions jumped on the Lady Yellow Jackets (1-10) quickly, winning the first set 25-11 while dominating the second set with a 25-8 victory. Pineville continued its dominance in the third set, winning, 25-11.

“I’m so happy with how our team played tonight,” Pineville coach Samantha North said. “They dominated in every aspect of the game. We had even stats across the board which shows just how well they worked as a team. We were even able to get some of our younger girls in which is tough to do when you’re in a tight game. Middlesboro has improved since the beginning of the season so we knew we had to play well and our girls showed up and showed out.”

The Lady Mountain Lions will be back in action Thursday at Clay County. Pineville defeated the Lady Tigers, 3-2, back on August 25.
