WILLIAMSBURG — The Class A, District 7 championship is back at a familiar place after Williamsburg put on a dominating effort against Middlesboro, winning, 36-6.
Jerry Herron’s squad scored the game’s first 36 points before Middlesboro finally got on the scoreboard at the end of the first half.
The win improves Williamsburg to 5-1 overall and 3-0 against district opponents while Larry French’s squad falls to 4-4 overall and finishes district play with a 3-1 mark.
Reece Hatcher, Peyton Tye, and Eli Meadors each had rushing touchdowns in the win while Nate Goodin threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to TJ Cornett. Goodin also had a 50-yard rushing touchdown.
“Kids played well,” Herron said. “Came out and executed the game plan. Very happy with the defensive line and the defense as a whole. Offensive line played really well. Players played extremely hard and took care of business early.”
