MANCHESTER — Onedia Baptist continues to make school history just a week off of capturing the boys’ soccer program’s first 13th Region championship.
Now the 2024 version of the Mountaineers (18-4) can lay claim to capturing the program’s first state tournament win along with first appearance in the Elite 8 with a dominating 4-0 win over Lawrence County.
Oneida Baptist did all of its scoring in the first half as Hero Khajohnsupawatchara scored 10 minutes into the contest and the Mountaineers never looked back.
Enrique Gabardo added Oneida Baptist’s final three goals for the first half while Khajohnsupawatchara added an assist.
The Mountaineers are scheduled to be back in action Thursday against the winner of Powell County and East Carter.
