A 6-2 record from last week makes my overall record 65-15 which keeps me above the 80 percent threshold for the season. Currently I’m picking 81.2 percent of my games correctly. The goal has been 80 percent, so I’m looking good.
Hopefully I can get to the 85 percent plateau by season’s end.
Clay County at Bell County
Both teams like to run which means look for this game to be over in less than two hours.
This is an interesting game.
Whoever wins will be crowned district champions, I believe, so a lot it on the line.
With this game being in Log Mountain, I’m picking the Bobcats to come out on top.
Prediction: Bell County 21, Clay County 14
Harlan at Williamsburg
Will the Yellow Jackets overlook the Green Dragons after locking up the district championship last week?
I don’t think so, but this game could be close for a while.
Prediction: Williamsburg 42, Harlan 14
Jellico, Tenn. at Jackson County
The Generals are playing well, but they’ll be without a key player — Ashton Clemens.
With that said, look for Jackson County to continue its impressive play.
Prediction: Jackson County 42, Jellico, Tenn. 21
Harlan County at North Laurel
This is a must win for both teams.
The winner moves on to the playoffs while the loser will miss out on the playoffs.
Both teams have struggled throughout the season, so it’s going to be interesting to see how this game plays out.
The Jaguars have a slight edge playing at home.
Prediction: North Laurel 14, Harlan County 12
Corbin at Perry Central
The Redhounds look to finish district play on a high note. Look for Corbin to score early and often in this one.
Prediction: Corbin 49, Perry Central 7
Lynn Camp at Pineville
Pineville is still searching for win No. 1 while Lynn Camp has struggled lately. Should be a good one.
Prediction: Lynn Camp 35, Pineville 32
Knox Central at Rockcastle County
This is another interesting matchup that could go either way. But since it is in Mt. Vernon, the stickers have the edge.
Prediction: Rockcastle County 21, Knox Central 7
Whitley County at Letcher Central
So who wants the No. 2 seed in the district?
That’s what is up for stake tonight when the Colonels pay a visit to play the Cougars.
Whitley County took one on the chin last week, and expect them to play better this time around, but with that said …..
Prediction: Letcher Central 42, Whitley County 30
