HARLAN — Corbin moved one step closer to winning its first 13th Region Volleyball Tournament championship since 2021 by defeating Barbourville, 3-9, during first round action on Saturday.
The Lady Redhounds dominated from the get-go, winning the first set, 25-12, before rolling to a 25-10 win in the second set, and a 25-5 victory in the third set.
“Proud of our girls for getting that first region win and staying focused,” Corbin coach Krystal Jones said. “This is what we’ve worked for all year. We’ve got a tough matchup against Harlan County on Monday, and we need our fans there. As always, it’s a great day to be a Redhound.”
Corbin (27-7) will now face-off against 52nd District champion Harlan County (26-6), who defeated Jackson County on Saturday.
