Lady Colonels have Kentucky 2A state title in sight

David Halcomb’s Whitley County Lady Colonels have high hopes of bringing home a Kentucky 2A state championship by the end of this weekend.

But to do so, Whitley County (11-7) must get past first round opponent Christian Academy-Louisville on Friday at 8 a.m.

The Lady Colonels will enter the tournament riding a two-game win streak while the Lady Centurions 11-2) are winners of four straight while possessing a four-game win streak. Their lone losses came against Bethlehem, and Bullitt East. 

Whitley County advanced to the state tournament with a 2-1 win over Corbin.

Joining both Whitley County, and Bethlehem in the tournament are Lexington Catholic, and Calloway County. Taylor County, and Greenup County, and Logan County, and Floyd Central.
