HUNGRY HOUNDS: Corbin volleyball wins again, improves to 4-1 in district play with shutout victory over W’burg

Vanessa Ross’ Corbin Lady Redhounds improved to 9-3 overall, and 4-1 against district foes after being Williamsburg, 3-0, on Thursday.

Corbin won the first set, 25-17, before rolling off 25-18, and 25-12 victories in the second, and third sets, respectively.

“Huge district win for us tonight,” Ross said. “We played well, but still have plenty to improve on. Our biggest weakness right now is errors and digging a hole. That will be our focus for the rest of the season.

“We get comfortable when we look at the scoreboard and allow teams to creep back in,” she added. “This team is very young but hungry.”

The Lady Redhounds will be back in action Monday at North Laurel while Williamsburg (7-8, 0-4) will play in the All ‘A’ State Tournament Saturday.
