MANCHESTER — The Clay County Lady Tigers captured an easy 82-8 season-opening win over Cordia in Tuesday’s that saw 12 players score for the victorious team.
Clay County (1-0) led 26-0 at the end of the first quarter and 52-1 at halftime before taking a 68-3 lead into the fourth quarter.
The Lady Tigers shot 35-of-79 from the floor while limiting Cordia to 1-of-26 shooting from the floor. Clay County also won the rebounding battle, 52-19.
Allie Gray led the Lady Tigers in scoring with 15 points while she played in the first game on Donnie Gray Court, who is also Allie Gray’s grandfather.
Anna Samples followed with 14 points while Maci White added 12 points.
