PINEVILLE — Bell County placed three players in double figures during the Lady Bobcats’ 70-48 win over Clay County.
“Good to get the win in our first game of the season,” Bell County coach David Teague said. “Clay County came out and got after us and really shot the ball well. I was proud of the way our kids settled down and thought we really picked it up defensively as the game went along.
“Obviously, it’s early and we still got lots to work on but was a good to open up with a test,” he added. “Proud of our kids and the way they played together.”
Lauren McGeorge led Bell County with 22 points, three rebounds and seven steals while Kairi Lamb finished with 18 points, 15 rebounds, four blocked shots and four steals. Gracie Barton chipped in 14 points, nine rebounds, one block and one steal.
Seventh grader Maci White led all scorers with 28 points. She was 6-of-9 from 3-point range.
