Jaguars rally again, improve to 3-0 with 57-54 win over Henry Clay

LONDON — Three games down, and Nate Valentine’s North Laurel Jaguars remain perfect at 3-0.

The Jaguars were in another nail-biter, but managed to pull off a 57-54 win over Henry Clay.

Once again Reece Davidson led the way with a 27-point scoring effort while RJ Noble scored 13 points and Jordan Rawlings added eight points.

“Another great win for our guys,” North Laurel  coach Nate Valentine said. “This has been a challenging week against three very good opponents. Our guys showed tremendous fight and composure tonight. Our effort was really good and i’m happy our players got rewarded with another win.”

North Laurel led 13-10 after the first quarter as Davidson and Noble scored four points apiece while Joe Smith hit a 3-pointer.

Noble added eight points in the second quarter while Davidson chipped in four points as the Jaguars held a slim 28-27 edge at halftime.

Davidson’s nine point effort combined with a 3-pointer by Rawlings kept North Laurel close  as the Blue Devils outscored the Jaguars, 16-13, in the third quarter to take a 43-41 advantage with eight minutes remaining.

Davidson took over in the fourth quarter, scoring 10 points that led to North Laurel rallying to secure the four point win.

The Jaguars will be back in action at home Tuesday against cross-town rival South Laurel.
