Led by Andrew Smith’s 32 points, Jackets stay perfect at 4-0

KNOXVILLE — Anthony Hibbard’s Williamsburg Yellow Jackets ran their record to 4-0 thanks to a hardfought 57-50 win over Apostolic Christian on Tuesday.

Andrew Smith scored 15 of his 32 points in the fourth quarter while Reece Hatcher added seven points. Conner Saylor and Peyton Hamilton chipped in six points apiece.

“Incredibly proud of our kids tonight,” Hibbard said. “They walked into a very hostile environment and pulled out a great road win. Similar to last night, we found ourselves in foul trouble early and we had to adapt. Nevertheless, all our guys battled and deserve credit for pulling out the win.

“The past two nights has been challenging,” he added. “We still have a lot of unknowns, but we are starting to figure things out. I’m excited about the process, because I think we have plenty of room to grow.”

Williamsburg will be back on the road Thursday against Cordia.
