Andrew Smith records double-double during Williamsburg’s 76-49 win over Cordia

HAZARD — Williamsburg senior Andrew Smith continues to show why he’s one of the top players in the 13th Region after recording another double-double while finishing with a team-best 29 points on Thursday.

Smiths double-double effort helped the Yellow Jackets improve to 5-0 thanks to their 76-49 win over Cordia.

“Fortunate to pick up an out-of-region road win tonight,” Williamsburg coach Anthony Hibbard said. “We had contributions from several of our guys. Andrew is really starting to pick it up for us. Tonight he picked up another double-double and threw in 29 points. Peyton Hamilton stepped up and played his best game to date with 14 points. Good to see Lakin Cunagin get back on track tonight. He pitched in 12 points. Cooper Prewitt was solid. He scored 8, but more importantly he grabbed several rebounds, and took 4-5 charges. “We are slowly piecing this thing together,” he added. “I really like what Reece Hatcher, Nate Goodin, Jacob Taylor, and Chase Meddles are bringing to our team. We just have to continue to get better each day. We are excited to get back at it tomorrow.”
