Lady Colonels remain perfect at 5-0 with 48-31 win over Madison Southern

WILLIAMSBURG — Whitley County’s reeled in another win on Friday, outlasting Madison Southern with a 48-31 win on Friday.

Aubree Clemens tossed in a team-best 15 points while Khylea Ray Collier added 11 points, and Maddy Hopkins scored 10 points.

“Great win to improve to 5-0,” Whitley County coach Michael Petrey said. “We love that our team has bought in to guarding and rebounding every possession. It was another great defensive performance. We thought Aubree Clemens was really good inside for us tonight, finishing with a double-double.

“Khylea Ray Collier hit some big shots in the second quarter that allowed us to get a cushion,” he added. “Jonna Rice and Madisyn Hopkins scored when we needed them to and were good on the boards. Autumn Sawyer and Cambree Price made some big plays defensively. We have to value the basketball more than we did tonight to continue to improve every game. It was good to come away with a win after not having our best offensive performance.”
