WILLIAMSBURG — Whitley County is off and running and its unblemished 6-0 record is proof coach Michael Petrey’s squad is a team to be reckoned with.
Aubree Clemens’ 20-point scoring effort, combined with Maddy Hopkins’ 11 points helped the Lady Colonels cruise to a 60-32 win over McCreary Central.
“Good win for our team,” Whitley County coach Michael Petrey said. “We were curious to see how we would respond to playing for the first time on back to back days. We challenged our team at the half and they responded in a positive manner.
“Khylea Ray Collier got us started today hitting three 3s in the first quarter,” he added. “Aubree Clemens had a really solid second half. Madisyn Hopkins and Jonna Rice did a great job in the second half guarding the basketball and crashing the offensive boards. Overall, it was a great team win and we love the progress our team is making.”
