Panthers rally from 19-point third quarter deficit, defeat Harlan, 81-75

BARBOURVILLE — Knox Central rallied from 19 points down with three minutes remaining in the third quarter to defeat Harlan, 81-75.

Grayson Burton led the way with 36 points and 10 rebounds while Austin Bargo had 21 points, six rebounds and four steals. Freshman Hayden Leto added seven points and 16 rebounds.

“Great gut check game for us,” Knox Central coach Mitchell Madden said. “We were down 14 at half, got down 19 with three minutes left in the 3rd quarter, but our attitudes and effort helped us start chipping away.

“Harlan shot the ball great tonight hitting 10 3s in the first half to open up a lead,” he added. “Hat’s off to them they played a really good game. We kept pressuring them full court they got little fatigue we made couple good runs to get back in the game. Hubbard hit a three to put us up and we made our free throws to close the game. Very proud of the No quit attitude from kids. This game will help us big time down the road.”
