Redhounds capture fourth win in a row, defeat Berea on the road

BEREA — Tony Pietrowski’s Corbin Redhounds were tested early and often against the Berea Pirates but found a way to pick up an impressive 78-73 road win on Tuesday to improve to 4-2.

The Redhounds received a 23-point scoring effort from Conner Middleton while Ryder Akins added 17 points and Dawson Farmer finished with 16 points.

“Gutty effort by our team tonight,” Pietrowski said. “Berea has a group of kids that have played a lot of games together. It showed up in their offensive execution and on the defensive side of the ball as well. Coach Fields is doing an excellent job with them.

“Conner Middleton showed some real desire to win this evening,” he added. “He had numerous big shots and rebounds for us. We need that senior leadership out of him. Ryder had another special game. He distributed the ball and scored it really well.

“We are showing flashes of being a very good team,” Pietrowski continued. “We have to continue to improve and I think we can compete for some championships this season. We are headed to Gatlinburg on Thursday. It’s always a great trip for us on and off the floor.”
