WILLIAMSBURG — Whitley County suffered its first loss of the season but not before putting up a fight at home against Danville Christian.
The Lady Colonels fell to 6-1 after dropping a 62-59 decision on Tuesday.
“Tough loss tonight against an athletic Danville Christian team,” Lady Colonel coach Michael Petrey said. “They shot the ball really good tonight. Really proud of our girls for competing the entire game. They jumped out on us early and we chipped away at their lead the entire game and gave ourselves a chance at the end. Tonight was a good learning experience for our team.”
Maddy Hopkins finished with a team-best 19 points while Aubree Clemens scored 16 points. Khylea Ray Collier also scored in double figures, finishing with 11 points.
