Redhounds’ four-game win streak snapped

GATLINBURG, TENN. — Corbin’s first game in opening round action of the Smoky Mountain Classic, losing to Loretto High School, 64-50.

The Redhounds’ (4-3) four-game win streak came to an end during the process, and will be back in action Friday at 1 p.m.

“Played a really talented team today,” Corbin coach Tony Pietrowski said. “Lots of upperclassmen and size. It was a good test for us. We didn’t shoot it well early and dug ourselves a hole.

“A lot of bright spots this evening and excited to get back on the floor tomorrow,” he added. “Playing this level of competition will only make us better. We have to stay the course.”

Corbin started the game off slow on the offensive side of things, trailing 17-8 after the first quarter. The Redhounds’ deficit grew to 37-22 at halftime before they faced an uphill battle emerging the fourth quarter, losing, 49-36.
