Corbin XC continues dominance; Harlan County’s Andrew Yeary places second 

Corbin’s boys’ cross country team continued its dominance on Saturday, winning the 15th annual Wayne County invitational with ease.

The Redhounds totaled 37 points while second place finisher North Laurel totaled 62 points. Those two teams are the only 13th Region squads that competed for the team championship.

Harlan County’s Andrew Yeary placed second overall with a time of 18:02.75 while Corbin’s John Hail finished third with a  time of 18:04.05.

North Laurel’s Josh Hoskins turned in a fifth place effort (18:21.34) while Corbin’s Kaleb Terrell (18:31.69), and Connor Messer (18:44.78) placed sixth, and seventh, respectively.

Whitley County’s Connor Partin (ninth, 18:52.51) and North Laurel’s Colton Nantz (10th, 18:53.67) rounded out the top 10.

Henry Bowling led Williamsburg with a 17th place finish (19:27.89) while Landon Howard (30th, 20:20.85) led Clay County. 

Riley Lewis turned out to be South Laurel’s too runner with a 36th place finish (20:37.41) while Barbourville’s Ashton Mills finished 59th with a time of 22:10.48.
