L4 SECURITY 13TH REGION MEDIA NETWORK VOLLEYBALL WEEK FIVE RANKINGS: Corbin takes soul possession of first place 

1. Corbin (9-3 overall, 8-2 vs. 13th Region opponents)

The Lady Redhounds are winners of eight of their last nine matches, and honest are just playing better volleyball than both Whitley County and North Laurel are.

Corbin will have a chance at revenge Tuesday when the Lady Redhounds travel to play the Lady Jaguars at The Jungle. North Laurel beat Corbin, 3-0, during both teams’ season-opener in August.

2. Whitley County (11-8, 7-1)

The Lady Colonels have played a tough slate the past two weeks while putting together a 4-2 mark.

They lost in first round action of the Kentucky 2A Volleyball State Tournament, and will attempt to turn things around with a road match against a very good Cumberland Homeschool Athletic Teams on Tuesday.

3. North Laurel (15-6, 8-1)

The Lady Jaguars are on a roll, winning five consecutive matches, and could very well move up to the top spot if they defeat No. 1 Corbin on Tuesday. North Laurel already owns one win over the defending regional champions.

4. South Laurel (3-5, 2-4)

The Lady Cardinals have only played eight matches so far which could be a reason why they just can seem to string together any momentum currently.

South Laurel has lost two matches in a row but will get some match play time in this week by participating in the First Priority Lady Colonel Volleyball Classic.

5. Bell County (11-7, 9-2)

The Lady Bobcats are winners of four straight, and look to keep the momentum going this week with matches against Lynn Camp, Harlan County, and Clay County on the horizon.

6. Knox Central (7-4, 7-4)

After starting the season with a 5-2 mark, the Lady Panthers are 2-2 since. Knox Central has three important matches coming up this week against Harlan, Middlesboro, and Harlan County.

7. Williamsburg (7-11, 5-7)

The Lady Yellow Jackets have dropped five straight since winning the All ‘A’ 13th Region Classic Tournament championship on Sept. 10.

8. Harlan County (5-6, 5-3)

Wins over Pineville and Harlan have moved the Lady Black Bears to the No. 8 spot.

9. Jackson County (6-8, 4-3)

After starting the season with a 0-4 mark, the Lady Generals are starting to right their ship. They’ve now won six of their last 10 matches.

10. Harlan (7-7, 7-5)

After reaching the finals of the 13th Region All ‘A’ Classic Volleyball Tournament, the Lady Green Dragons have now lost three games in a row.
