Slow start leads to Lynn Camp’s 75-27 loss to Richmond Model

CORBIN — Dinky Phipps’ Lynn Camp Wildcats continue to get over the hump but struggles on both ends of the court have played big roles why their record stands at 1-12.

Those struggles carried over to Monday’s 5th place game of the Grace Health Cumberland Falls Invitational as the Wildcats dropped a 75-27 decision to Richmond Model.

Lynn Camp fell behind 32-12 in the first quarter and never recovered. Model held a 57-19 lead at halftime before outscoring the Wildcats, 18-8, in the second half.

Ethan Chafin led Lynn Camp with 12 points — all in the first quarter. Jared King added nine points while Conner Mabe finished with four points, and Caleb Wilburn chipped in two points.

The Wildcats will be back in action against Williamsburg Thursday before hosting Red Bird Saturday during first round action of the 13th Region All ‘A’ Classic Tournament.
