Lady Yellow Jackets drop second game in a row

MIDDLESBORO — Williamsburg dropped its second game in a row, finishing with an 0-2 mark in the Magic City Winter Classic.

The Lady Yellow Jackets trailed Thomas Walker, Va., 14-12, at the end of the first quarter before being outscored, 16-4, in the second quarter, which led to their 53-38 loss on Monday.

“We have hit a tough spot losing two games in a row that was anticipated to be wins,” Williamsburg coach Melissia Douglas said. “But with some challenges, we have hit a bump. This is definitely a time to remind ourselves that we are not going to be defined by these losses. We had two players to receive all tournament team — Presley Spicer and Braylee Evans. Spicer had a double-double both nights and she is working to keep her numbers up. Today Braylee had a career high of 12 points with three 3s.”
