Lady Redhounds’ five-game win streak snapped 

ASHLAND — The Corbin Lady Redhounds’ five-game win streak came to an end on Friday with a slim 70-68 loss to Ashland Blazer.

The game was tight throughout with Corbin (9-2) falling behind 27-20 in the first quarter before rallying to tie the game at 37 apiece at halftime.

Both teams scored 22 points apiece in the third quarter, entering the final period of play tied at 59-all.

Ashland Blazer did just enough in the game’s final eight minutes, outscoring the Lady Redhounds, 11-9, to pull out the two-point win.

Kylie Clem led Corbin with 22 points while hitting all five of her free throws attempts. Lydia King turned in a 20-point scoring effort while Raegan Walker added 13 points. 

Corbin is scheduled to be back in action Monday against Bell County in the first round of the Kentucky 2A Section Tournament at Harlan County High School.
