BOONESVILLE — Williamsburg saw its record fall to 5-5 after suffering a 72-35 loss to Owsley County on Friday.
Friday’s matchup with the Lady Owls marked eighth road game of the season for the Lady Yellow Jackets. They’ll be back at home for the first time since Dec. 10 on Saturday against Clinton County.
“I look forward to celebrating our 50th Year of Lady Jacket Basketball and seeing the alumni that will be attending,” Williamsburg coach Melissia Douglas said.
Against Owsley County, Douglas’ squad never got on track, trailing 17-4 at the end of the first quarter, and 39-14 at halftime. Williamsburg was outscored, 33-21, in the second half.
“Tough loss today, but we win as a team, and lose as a team,” Douglas said. “We have a great group of young ladies. Unfortunately, we are making more mistakes, the sooner we correct these mistakes and play with more confidence the sooner we will have wins.”
Presley Spicer led the Lady Yellow Jackets with 12 points while Abby Moses added six points.
