CORBIN — Pineville achieved one of its goals it set out before the start of the season, capturing the 13th Region All ‘A’ Classic Tournament championship on Wednesday with a 65-57 win over Barbourville.
The game was nip and tuck throughout but the Mountain Lions outscored the Tigers, 16-11, during the game’s final eight minutes to pull off the win and grab the championship.
Led by Ashton Moser’s 21-point scoring effort, Pineville led 16-12 at the end of the first quarter.
The Mountain Lions (10-4) held a 35-30 edge at halftime before entering the fourth quarter with a 50-46 advantage.
Moser scored six points in the fourth quarter while Sawyer Thompson and Kaiden Robbins added four points apiece, helping Pineville to secure the win.
Cam Pickett did his damage during the first three quarters, scoring 18 points, while Thompson finished with 13 points. Robbins added eight points.
Jasper Hubbs led Barbourville (9-5) with 19 points while Trevor Triplett scored 12 points. Eathan Fisher added nine points.
