WILLIAMSBURG — Melissia Douglas’ Williamsburg Lady Yellow Jackets snapped a season-long six-game losing skid with a convincing 71-29 win over Oneida Baptist.
The Lady Yellow Jackets (6-8) had four players score in double figures with Brayler Evans leading the way with 17 points. Lorelei Coleman added 14 points while Hannah Creekmore followed with 13 points, and Presley Spicer pitched in 12 points, and 18 rebounds. Ellie Breeding scored nine points and Abby Moses finished with six points.
“I’m really proud of the team tonight,” Douglass said. “They played with great confidence and showed excellent teamwork. Four of the six players who saw the floor scored in double digits, with Braylee and Lorelei hitting season high points. Presley dominated the boards, pulling down 18 rebounds.”
Williamsburg led 16-8 after the first quarter and 36-16 at halftime. The Lady Yellow Jackets outscored the Lady Mountaineers, 35-13, in the second half.
Charity Carpenter led Oneida Baptist with 12 points while Bailey Bristow added 10 points.
