CORBIN — Lauren McGeorge’s 26-point scoring effort combined with Kairi Lamb’s 18-point, 11-rebound effort played big roles in Bell County’s 73-43 win over Lynn Camp on Friday.
The Lady Bobcats used a 16-0 run in the first quarter, and never looked back in the win. They led 41-24 at halftime, and used a 21-5 run in the third quarter to put the game out of reach.
“The score definitely wasn’t what we wanted, but my girls battled the entire game,” Lynn Camp coach James Prewitt said. “We had moments where we played well, and moments we did not. The biggest thing about this group of girls is they never quit. They play hard from the tip to the final buzzer.
“Lauren Partin had another great night, she had 21 points and 13 rebounds. She managed to reach the 500 rebound milestone tonight, and we are very proud of her. She brings a lot of energy and positivity to the floor,” he added. “Madison Weymers had seven points and seven rebounds tonight. Lillian Henize also scored seven. The score doesn’t really reflect our defensive effort, we played well in the half court, but we struggled to take care of the ball, so they were able to get good looks in transition. Coach Teague does a great job, I remember coaching against him when he was an assistant for the boys about 20 years ago. He always has a great group of girls and great shooters.”
Bell County turned in an impressive defensive effort, recording 24 steals and three blocks while offensively, the Lady Bobcats finished with 10 assists. Gracie Barton also scored in double figures, chipping in 12 points.
Lauren Partin, who recorded her 500th career rebound during the game, led Lynn Camp with 21 points while Madison Weymers finished with seven points.
