Grayson Burton puts up 36 points to lead Knox Central past Scott County, 95-76

MANCHESTER — Grayson Burton caught fire during Saturday’s Bobby Keith Classic, scoring 36 points while dishing out five assists to guide Knox Central to a 95-76 win over Scott County.

Tydus Summers followed with 20 points and finished with four assists while Hayden Melton finished with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

“We played a great up-tempo game getting a lot shots up,” Knox Central coach Mitchell Madden said. “Our goal was to get a good shot every seven to eight seconds and we did well with it. Scott county played the same game, so it was a fun game to play.

“After the first quarter, we were ahead, 23-21, and we hit five 3s in the second quarter and led 51-31 lead,” he added. “We came out in the second half and played a very aggressive fast pace to get a really good win. Any time you can get a win against a 11th Region team, it’s a good win.”
