PINEVILLE — Pineville recorded its second win over Lynn Camp in eight days by drafting the Lady Wildcats, 65-42, on Monday.
The win improved the Lady Mountain Lions to 8-8 while Lynn Camp dropped to 4-8.
Pineville jumped out on the Lady Wildcats early, building an 18-8 lead heading into the second quarter before holding a 32-16 cushion at halftime.
The Lady Mountain Lions used a 19-9 run in the third quarter to out the game away.
“We played this bunch eight days ago, and I feel like we played them much better today, which means we are getting better,” Lynn Camp coach James Prewitt said. “We had a balanced offensive attack today. We had four players score nine, nine, 10 and 12.
“We were better defensively today, which makes a huge difference,” he added. “We know that coming down the stretch it will be our defense that determines our success.”
Rachel Howard dominated in the game, scoring a game-high 34 points while Madison Johnson added 12 points, and Ava Arnett finished with eight points.
Lauren Partin led Lynn Camp with 12 points while Aubrey Hollis finished with 10 points. Lily Henize and Madison Weymers added nine points apiece.
