Davidson’s 28 points pushes North Laurel past Oneida Baptist 

LONDON — Paced by Reece Davidson’s 28-point scoring effort, North Laurel captured its third win in a row on Monday, defeating Oneida Baptist, 81-53, in a 49th District matchup.

Davidson caught fire early and remained red-hot throughout the game, scoring eight points in the first quarter, five in the second and third quarters, and 10 in the fourth quarter.

The Jaguars are now 11-6 overall and 4-1 versus district opponents while the Mountaineers fell to 9-10, and 2-3.

“It was great to be back at home for the first time in over a month,” North Laurel coach Nate Valentine said. “I thought we were really good offensively minus a few careless turnovers. We need to be a little more committed to the defensive end at times. We are making strides in the right direction, we just need to be more consistent with some things.”

North Laurel built took a 21-12 lead into the second quarter and expanded it to 43-29 at halftime. The Jaguars’ advantage grew to 63-39 entering the fourth quarter.

Jordan Rawlings joined Davidson in double figures, finishing with 17 points and five 3-pointers while Corey Cunnagin added 10 points. Kole Jervis and Cooper Elza finished with eight points apiece.

Skyler Roberts led Oneida Baptist with 17 points while Dennis Esemuede added 11 points. Jason Erhunmwunse also scored in double figures, finishing with 10 points.
