LEXINGTON — There are quite a few changes from last week’s 13th Region Boys’ RPI Ratings to the updated ratings on Wednesday.
Harlan County (14-5 overall, 4-0 against 13th Region opponents) remain ranked No. 1 with an RPI rating of .65166.
The Black Bears had their six-game win streak come to an end this past weekend after falling to Calloway County, 80-75, in the finals of the Kentucky 2A State Championship.
Clay County (13-4, 7-2) moves into the No. 2 spot after recording wins over Oneida Baptist, Harlan, and South Laurel. The Tigers rating is .61667, and they’ve reeled off seven consecutive wins. They got revenge against South Laurel this past week, winning, 63-58 — a 28-point swing from then they lost to the Cardinals, 70-47, on Dec. 7, 2024.
Brad Sizemore’s Bell County Bobcats (14-4, 3-1) come in at No. 3 with a .59676 rating. The Bobcats have won 11 out of their last 12 games.
South Laurel (10-6, 6-2) enters at No. 4 with a .59644 despite falling to both Corbin and Clay County last week. The Cardinals’ Josh Steele suffered an injury late in the third quarter during Saturday’s game against the Tigers.
Mitchell Madden’s Knox Central Panthers round out the top five with a .59031 rating. The Panthers are young and dangerous, sporting a 12-3 overall mark while going 3-1 against regional teams.
Corbin, North Laurel, Pineville, Whitley County, and Williamsburg round out numbers six through 10.
The Redhounds (11-5, 6-1) possess a .58899 rating while North Laurel (11-6, 5-3) comes in at No. 7 with a (.58743) rating. Pineville (13-5, 8-2) is No. 8 with a .58636 rating while Eric Swords’ Colonels (.57927) have dropped three in a row, and four of their last five, and now possess a 12-6 overall mark while going 4-4 against regional
Teams. Williamsburg (11-4, 4-4) rounds out the top 10 with a .55491 rating.
