MOUNT VERNON — Knox Central had hopes of containing its win streak during Saturday’s Rockcastle County Rockets Classic, but Tates Creek had other things in mind.
The Commodores did just enough to pull out a 75-64 win over the Panthers. The loss dropped Knox Central to 13-4.
Tydus Summers scored 26 points in the win while Grayson Burton added 16 points.
“Trap game for us coming off the huge district game with so much intensity,” Knox Central coach Mitchell Madden said. “We came out flat struggled the whole game. We lead majority of the game by one to two points yet then had a few costly turnovers in the fourth quarter that gave them the lead helped seal their win. We will get back in the gym take the loss and learn from it.”
