BARBOURVILLE — Knox Central moved into the driver’s seat of the 51st District, outlasting Pineville in a shootout, winning, 98-84.
Grayson Burton scored 35 points and pulled down nine rebounds while Tydus Summers scored 27 points. Hayden Melton had 11 points and 13 rebounds while Evan Hubbard scored 14 points and pulled down seven boards.
Sawyer Thompson led all scorers with 40 points while teammate Jeremiah Beck added 27 points.
“Great game from both teams,” Knox Central coach Mitchell Madden said. “As a fan, it had to be one of the funnest games to watch. Both teams battled from start to finish making big plays and buckets non stop. The atmosphere was crazy thanks to all our fans and KC crazies.”
