BARBOURVILLE — Mitchell Madden’s Knox Central Panthers secured the 51st District’s top seed with an 88-37 win over Lynn Camp on Friday.
Knox Central dominated throughout the game, improving to 15-4 and 3-0 in district play while the Wildcats falls to 4-17 and 0-3 against district opponents. Dinky Phipps’ squad will be the No. 4 seed in the upcoming 51st District Tournament.
Christian Bargo led Knox Central with 15 points and 12 rebounds while Grayson Burton finished with 12 points. Hayden Melton turned in an eighth-point, 13-rebound effort.
“This was a great win for us just due to the fact of it locked up the district’s No. 1 seed, which was very important in the 51st,” Madden said. “Very proud of my team. We have no time off, it’s back to work tomorrow against a very good Tri-Cities team out of Tennessee.
Conner Mabe led Lynn Camp with 12 points while Ethen Chafin scored eight points.
