MCKEE — North Laurel didn’t waste anytime notching itself a berth into the 13th Region Tournament after upending Oneida Baptist, 93-15, during semifinal action of Monday’s 49th District Tournament.
The No. 6 ranked Lady Jaguars ran their district win streak to 53 games while improving to 27-2 during the process.
North Laurel built a 44-2 lead during the first quarter, and never looked back as Brooke Nichelson scored all 21 of her points in the game’s first eight minutes.
The Lady Jaguars held a 65-5 edge at halftime, and 76-10 lead entering the fourth quarter.
North Laurel will face-off against the winner of Jackson County and Clay County in the 49th District tournament finals on Thursday.
Nichelson’s 21 points led all scorers while Bella Sizemore had 12 points and Laylee Phillips finished with 11 points. Mariella Claybrook added eight points while Haley Combs finished with seven points.
