THIRD TIME IS THE CHARM: Pineville gets some payback by defeating Harlan in four sets

After losing two heartbreakers earlier in the season to Harlan, Pineville was finally able to get some payback by defeating the Lady Green Dragons on Tuesday in four sets.

The Lady Mountain Lions were in need of a win, and got it, snapping a two-game losing skid during the process while defeating Harlan, 25-20, 22-25, 25-22, and 25-22.

“Every time we play Harlan, it’s an epic battle,” Pineville coach Samantha North said. “Over the years we have gone to four and five sets again and again and playing on Wah Wah Jones Court is never easy. Our girls had revenge on the brain tonight though.

“Harlan knocked us out of the first round of the All ‘A’ and it’s not something we’ve forgotten,” she added. “Our girls played with as much passion and fight as I’ve ever seen them. They worked for every point and there were so many long rallies where we came up on top. Our goal right now is to be a team that can finish and tonight we were able to get the job done.”
