CORBIN — The Corbin Girls’ tennis team began the first week of tennis action with three consecutive wins, starting the season with a 3-0 mark and continued to impress during this past week.

“We got very strong performances at the one singles and one doubles spots while our younger girls just got over powered by more experienced players,” Corbin coach Chris Jones said. “The match came down to a super tiebreaker at two singles and even though we came up just a little short, I’m super proud of how Olivia fought back, took the second set and forced the super tiebreaker. We purposely seek out these tougher teams knowing we might take a loss on the season record, but we know this is what will make us battle ready come time for the region and state tournaments.”
