CORBIN — Staring at a 2-0 deficit with two innings remaining, Corbin dug deep and rallied, scoring five runs, three in the seventh inning, to pull out an impressive 5-2 road win over Franklin County on Friday.
A run-scoring sacrifice fly by Cam Estep broke a two-all tie in the seventh inning while Lucas Tarvin and Noah Cima scored on wild pitches to secure the three-run win.
“Great win for us,” Corbin coach Cody Philpot said. “I’m proud of these guys again tonight. Cruz and Hunter threw well and kept us in the game until we could break through. Several guys came through with big hits and executed in late game situations. Definitely a team win if there has ever been one.”
Estep, Noah Cima and Ethan Abner each drove in a run apiece in the win.
Cruz Cima looked impressive during his start, going three innings while allowing only two hits and one earned run. He finished with three strikeouts. Hunter Todd tossed four innings, allowing one hit and one earned run while striking out a batter.
